This video and blog post contains spoilers. Enter at your own risk!
Where did it all begin?
May 24. I actually promised to upload it on May 23 2022, but it was a busy week at my day job, a Tool concert and a Fantasy event were I also did a little promotion for my own comic and met some awesome people. So I had to take a necessary break from writing and YouTube. Nevertheless I managed to get the spoiler rich review out on Youtube.
This video contains the spoiler rich review of ED GEIN #1. A noir, B/w, horror, supernatural indie comic in the American comic book format by no other than Lucifer Storm from the UK and with art by Kristian Rossi from Argentina. Released through Reload Comics UK.
Quick Synopsis
A demon has escaped from the depths of Dante’s Inferno and Satan has to do everything in his power to bring this demon back to hell, because it could mean the end of both the Kingdom of God and Dante’s inferno if the demon makes it to Heaven’s Gate.
Years before the demon escaped Edward Gein (the main character and serial killer) is arrested and presumably sentenced to death after which he’s forced to relive one of his worst memories in an endless post mortem cycle. Not knowing that one day he is about to sniff the brimstone of his new home. Satan realizes that it takes one mentally unstable serial killer to take down another unstable serial killer and against his assistant’s advice Satan contacts Edward Gein. After a little “persuasion” Edward Gein accepts Satan’s offer and returns to Plainfield with a new purpose and ironically an unexpected ally who doesn’t like his disguise. Little does Edward know that once you make a deal with the Devil there’s always a hidden catch.
Final verdict: 90/100
I already posted a score on twat a few months ago where I gave it a 75/100 after reading the print ready PDF. But that was premature. Because you are doomed to miss certain elements, like easter eggs and hidden symbolism. After reading it 2-3 times I started to discover new things that I missed the first time. Like the Number of the Beast hidden within the panels where Satan makes his first appearance
This is a comic that makes you think. No matter if you are religious or not.
It’s a great horror, noir, supernatural with solid story writing, good character development and well written characters. Not only is it a good start to what could be something great, but it’s a comic you should read 2-3 times before you understand the big picture.
The art is not too overcomplicated. It’s pretty simplistic like you see in indies like 2100 Samurai by Nick Gibson. But within the simplicity lies the genius of the combined effort of an award winning graphic novelist like Mr. Storm and the artistic skills of Kristian Rossi. His splash pages and covers are one of the best I have seen in the indie scene. Everything the former big two refuse to deliver.
The second issue is now available on indiegogo. The catchup bundle is between 3 GBP (digital) and 5 GP (physical. Without shipping). From the moment I am posting this blog you have 18 days to back the Indiegogo. So don’t be late! You don’t want to miss this one.

And of course there is a last but not least part
If you like to see what I created with my hardworking friend called NEF.
Jaguar Warrior Issue 1: Death of the Family is available as a vertical scrolling webcomic at www.thejaguarwarrior.com and a more traditional format on globalcomix. In both English and Spanish. And if you like what you saw. Grab yourself a digital edition at Gumroad for $2.00.
I also printed 5 physical copies of Jaguar Warrior Issue 1 in English and 5 in Spanish as a test.
Both turned out succesful. And I sold some as well to test the waters. I even used one to promote myself to the organisation of a small con in Rijswijk. They complimented me on my approach.
And I might get an interview as well. So not bad for a new guy!

So what’s the next review going to be AJ?
After I reviewed ED GEIN #1 I reached out to Anthony Stokes. For those of you who don’t know who Anthony Stokes. Anthony Stokes is an Afro American comic book writer and screenwriter from the USA.
And he is the writer behind Decay 1-2: Revenge Tour. A supernatural, mature revenge horror set in New Orleans. Not really my cup of tea, but it is a story you want to share around a campfire during a road trip. Because it has a good start.
The Kickstarter is closed, but if you still want to buy the first two issues. Here’s the link to his webshop!

I try to upload the two blog posts by next week depending on my schedule.
The next spoiler rich review on Youtube will be a three parter.
Pointman Comics #1-3 by no other than Shameless. The first issue will be read this weekend. The review will follow next week.
That’s all for today folks.
Hasta la proxima
